Feeling overwhelmed & frustrated?
#1
Huh
Feeling frustrated with all this new stuff is totally normal and in part also point of the exercise.
In school they predigest everything, break it down, step by step, so that all you have to do is follow steps. This strategy makes it easy for them to charge tuition and to expect 'results', i.e. the steps they already gave you to do...
In the real world, and the transition from school to real world will likely be painful for most students, 90%+ of the work, especially in the IT business, lies in the 'breaking it down' and 'figuring it out'. Because following predefined steps is the easiest part. Also in IT most problems are unique in nature. Certain issues repeat all over, but each problem to be solved has usually a lot of unknowns to it because it's new and unique...

The internet and your team members will help you a lot to overcome most hurdles. Try to team up with someone who came to a face to face meeting. Email everyone and ask for assistance.

Try these searches in YouTube and Google:
how to install virtualbox
how to install VMware Player
how to use virtualbox
how to install Windows Server 2016
What is TCP/IP
What is HTTP
What is FTP
how to install IIS
how to install IIS FTP server

and so on...
Also in google you will find a lot of useful articles. One major point of this exercise is to experience the feeling of having to figure things out yourself online and also seek assistance from your team members and work together to figure things out. This is of course a major change of course for students who never had to do this before. The earlier you develop this problem solving skill, the better for you. Employers always want the people who can figure things out without requiring too much guidance, which of course costs a lot of money.

For milestone #1 and #2, please read about virtual machines and watch a dozen or so related videos on YouTube. There is lots of good education material out there. Ask your team members who have these steps completed about their experience and recommendations.

If all that doesn't help we can show the steps required for milestones #1 and #2 again next time we meet, which will be probably in about 2 weeks
